| First Interstate World Trade Center
Originally called Library Square, the
First Interstate World Center is the tallest
building west of Chicago. It is 73 stories tall
with central plants on the 5th ( 3 x 1,200
tons) and 56th (2 x 400 tons) floors as well as field erected cooling towers on the 5th floor.
Each of the 66 office floors is served
by cold and bypass double ducts from floor
by floor air handlers.
This project was a plan and specification
project. When the original mechanical contractor
went bankrupt, ACCO was selected by
the bonding company to complete the
project based on Turner’s “high recommendations”
as the only contractor capable of completing the
project on short notice.
