| Museum of TV & Radio
The Museum of Television & Radio, which houses a collection
of more than 75,000 television and radio programs has opened
its West Coast doors. The museum now has two locations: New
York and Beverly Hills.
The museum was designed by the internationally admired
architectural firm of Richard Meier & Partners. ACCO
partnered with the consulting engineer to provide design-assist
services for the HVAC system to not only fit within the
museum’s architectural design but also within the owner’s
budget.
The Museum of Television & Radio is a nonprofit organization
founded in 1975 to collect and preserve television and radio
programs and to make them available to the public.
Located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Beverly
Drive and Little Santa Monica Boulevard, the museum features
a two-story sky lit rotunda entry, a 150-seat theater, a radio
listening room, a screening/education room, and a museum shop.
The HVAC system ACCO installed consists of a small air-cooled
chiller with two air handlers. A variable air volume system
services the main museum with a constant volume system serving
the theater. Heating is accomplished by fan-powered boxes with
electric heat.
