Constructed in 1999, this 80,000 dedicated and secure
facility serves as the worldwide IT hub for PeopleSoft
Corporation. Centrally located amid more than 1,500,000
square feet of headquarters to match. Its 1,600 ton
chilled water central plant is perhaps the most robust
of its kind on the West Coast, with complete redundancy
of equipment, piping, controls, utilities, and routing.
The design includes four (4) 400 ton York chillers, four
(4) BAC Series 3000 towers, three (3) each chilled and
condenser water pumps, and an Energy Labs main house AHU
- all of which are variable speed. Fifty-four (54) Liebert
chilled water data room units are on the Main Server floor
and technical spaces. Redundant utilities include a
44,000 gallon storage tank and 30 GPM onsite well to
provide cooling tower make-up water at peak demand for
one week without use of public domestic water. The
Automated Logic Corporation (ALC) control system provided
by ACCO is integrated with a facility - wide Liebert
SiteScan 2000 system, which also runs on the ALC platform.
Designed specifically with the operating engineer in mind,
this facility has served as a "Best in Class" model for
similar current generation data centers.
